The music ministry at First Baptist Church is committed to praising the majesty and glory of
our great God. As Psalm 150 indicates, he is worthy to be praised for many reasons and in a
variety of ways.
All ages participate in the music ministries of our church, beginning with our youngest
members in children's church. Our choir participates regularly in Sunday worship services, as
do praise teams, special ensembles, and soloists.
Under the capable guidance of our music director, Lisa Hern, the music ministries at First
Baptist Church also include special events such as the production of the musical, "The
Christmas Shoes" in December, 2006. These events are community-oriented and seek to
involve as many people as possible through music, acting, and support roles.
Our music ministries blend both contemporary and traditional styles of Christian music in
every worship service. We are committed to ensuring that our music is biblically sound and
edifying to the Body of Christ, balancing musical quality, integrity,and variety.
We encourage our members to become involved in the music ministries of First Baptist
Church, believing that this is beneficial to them spiritually and vitally important to the welfare
of the congregation. Our goal is to involve everyone in Sunday services as active
participants in worship, whether they are leading in worship or singing in the congregation.
